Martin Green has been the driving force behind Whisky Auctions stretching back over 38 years. He is credited with devising and holding the first ever dedicated Whisky Auction sale in 1989 at Christie's whom he was with until 1999.
In 2000 Martin joined McTear's as a consultant to set up a new Whisky department where he developed quarterly auctions which have continued successfully ever since.
Martin Joined Bonhams in 2008 to resurrect their Whisky Department where he successfully developed four auctions per year in Edinburgh and occasional sales in New York until leaving in 2022.
During his career he has been integral to several UK and World record auction prices for rare Single Malt Whiskies, among his achievements the highest price paid for any artwork/item sold in Scotland, at the time, whilst with Bonhams in 2018 (sale of The Macallan-60 year old 1926-Valerio Adami label, £848,750)
